Five stop Apple Store Series Set For October In Support Of Vollenweider’s All New Recording “VOX”
“Vox” In Stores September 20th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Santa Monica , CA---Kin Kou Records, a division of the Savoy Label Group (SLG), is proud to announce the return of Grammy Award winner Andreas Vollenweider with his new album “VOX”--Vollenweider’s first collection of all new material in over six years. Performing with a percussionist, Vollenweider will demonstrate how he used Macintosh computers and Apple technology in the making of his music. He will also incorporate performance and audience discussion into the special events. The series will take place in Apple Retail Store locations in five cities across the country beginning October 1st. It’s an innovative venue for the technically savvy Vollenweider to express his creative vision and one of the first times an adult-oriented artist has embarked on a national tour of the Apple stores. The series kicks off October 1st in White Plains, NY and ends in Los Angeles at the Apple Store, The Grove. “VOX” is in stores September 20.

Says Steve Vining, President of Kin Kou and the Savoy Label Group: “Andreas Vollenweider has been a technical as well as musical innovator for so long its hard to think of his music without recognizing the frontiers he has opened. Both in audio and video production, Apple has been such an indispensable part of his work for 25 years and this tour will spotlight that unique relationship.”

Vollenweider has long been lauded for his distinctive musical talent and inventiveness. He took up the harp as his instrument of choice and in the early 1970’s invented the first electro-acoustic harp. Since the release of his debut album, “Eine Art Suite XIII Teilen” in 1979, the acclaimed harpist has sold over 20 million records worldwide, earned 5 multi-platinum awards in the US alone and is a Grammy Award winner. The highly anticipated “Vox” is a lush, symphonic masterwork with multi-cultural influences and a showcase for his new found love of vocals.
The new recording is the centerpiece of a year-long rollout of special projects and catalog from the Grammy Award-winning musician on it’s newly formed World music label Kin Kou. Written, arranged and produced by Vollenweider, “Vox” will have a special Dual Disc release that includes the cd and a special DVD with exclusive concert footage and interviews—one of the first Dual Disc releases in the World music genre. In March 2006, “A Magic Journey,” a live concert special recently taped in Vollenweider’s hometown of Zurich will anchor the PBS Pledge Drive as a premium SIP premiere program. A Tour with full band is scheduled for April 2006.

Schedule is as follows—additional dates TBD: 10/1 Westchester, NY(1pm); 10/3 Chicago, IL (7pm); 10/5 Portland, OR (7pm); 10/6 San Francisco (7pm); 10/7 Los Angeles (7:30pm)
